Walk For Health
We offer two versions of health walks, a shorter walk is about 2 miles and the longer walk is around 4-5 miles
Both walks are held every Wednesday, except Christmas and New Year.
We generally have around 30+ walkers regularly coming in total on both walks.
Meet behind St John's Church, opposite the Bradley statue around 9:45am for a 10am start.
Return for "tea and toast" at the Wesley Centre (cost £1.50)

Try It out
Try a walk and have a cup of tea or coffee and toast in the church afterwards. Have a chat with our friends who have achieved better health and fitness the easy way. The photo left was taken during our shorter 2 mile walk.
The photo below was taken in September 2018 when both our two Wednesday groups met up at St Helen's Well along the Hudson Way. There were 35 walkers in the longer group and 9 in the shorter group. The weather was fine and dry great for walking. The longer walk continued along the track before turning left up the single track road to Goodmanham and back to Market Weighton via the 'Monkey Run'.
Below are some of the intrepid walkers doing the weekly walk in inclement (-3C) during March 2018.
Healthcare professionals are agreed that walking can be helpful in preventing several types of cancer. It can also help lower high blood pressure, and reduce the risk of type-2 diabetes. People recovering from heart problems or injury have found that walking has helped speed up their recovery.
It can also help fight depression, improve fitness and increase general wellbeing.
